Silva completed a £24 million move early this summer and is joined by fellow La Liga compatriot Yaya Toure along with Aleksandar Kolarov and Jerome Boateng. However another busy transfer window has left City with a large squad and with the new Premier League rules kicking in this season, City will be forced to sell a number of their stars in order to reduce their squad size.

Mario Balotelli’s move to the City of Manchester Stadium looks to have hit a road block with the Inter Milan player demanding a huge wage packet which does not include his image rights. With City unwilling to make him the highest paid player at the club, Balotelli will have to significantly reduce his wage demands if he wants to move to a new club.

Valencia on the other hand will be looking to hit top form after suffering a shock defeat to Marseille in their last friendly game. The Spanish side, waiting to find out their opponents in the Champions League qualifying round, next play Palermo before ending their pre-season against Fiorentina on August 18.
