The Blues’ World Cup participants were given extended leaves of absence but returned to the training ground on Saturday and will be travelling with the squad to Germany where they play Eintracht Frankfurt and Hamburg.

However Didier Drogba, Jose Bosingwa, Alex and Petr Cech are all out of action due to injuries and are serious doubts for the season opener against Manchester United in their Community Shield clash next weekend.

Chelsea have looked far from their best in their opening two friendly games and in fact lost heavily to Ajax in their last game. Manager Carlo Ancelotti will be hopeful that the return of his key players will provide the necessary balance as he looks to start the season in good form.
