The former Manchester City manager was appointed as the Fulham boss on July 29 and will have just one chance of getting his team composition right before Fulham start their new season against Bolton Wanderers on August 14.

Hughes has been promised a hefty transfer kitty and the former Wales boss is interested in reuniting with Stephen Ireland and Craig Bellamy. With Manchester City forced to cut down their squad strength to just 25 players, Hughes could line up some bargain deals from his former club with Fulham yet to spend anything this summer following the arrival of Philippe Senderos on a free transfer.

Meanwhile Werder Bremen coach Thomas Schaaf will be desperate to keep all of his key players with the club with both Mesut Ozil and Per Mertesacker attracting interest from a number of top European clubs following an excellent World Cup campaign.
