Munich suffered a disappointing defeat to Inter Milan in the Champions League final last season with Jose Mourinho becoming only the third manager to win the competition with two different clubs. The Portuguese coach has since then taken over at Real Madrid and will be hoping for a repeat of last season’s performance against Munich.

Louis Van Gaal has had a fairly quiet summer with the majority of the players coming into the club after the end of their loan period with other clubs. Rouven Sattelmaier is the only player who was signed this summer but on a free transfer from Jahn Regensburg.

Madrid on the other hand have been busy in the transfer window with yet another big outlay in the summer following the arrivals of Angel di Maria, Pedro Leon and Sami Khedira with Mourinho revealing that he wants another two players before the end of the transfer window.
