The Hammers had secured a thumping 3-0 win over Stoke last weekend with Demba Ba, Manuel da Costa and Thomas Hitzlsperger all on target. The victory saw West Ham extend their winning streak to three games and having thrashed Burnley 5-1 in the fifth round, manager Avram Grant will be confident of another victory over Stoke this weekend.

Stoke manager Tony Pulis on the other hand was clearly unhappy with his side’s display and with his side slowly slipping closer to the relegation zone, the Stoke boss will be hopeful that a place in the FA Cup semi final will prove to be the turning point as the action enters the final third of the season.

The Potters have been already dumped out of a knockout competition by West Ham this season with the Hammers securing a 3-1 victory in the Carling Cup fourth round. However both the victories have come at Upton Park while West Ham’s last two visits to the Britannia Stadium have ended in a draw and a defeat.
