City came within 10 minutes of an embarrassing exit out of the FA Cup at the hands of a team playing two divisions below them. Neal Bishop had given Notts County a shock lead midway through the second half before Edin Dzeko grabbed his first goal for Manchester City to push the tie into a replay.

Mancini was disappointed over the result but was relieved that his side did not taste a humiliating defeat. This is the second time that City have avoided a shock defeat in the FA Cup, having held Leicester City to a 2-2 draw in the third round before securing a 4-2 victory in the replay.

Notts County coach Paul Ince though will be confident that his side can go one better than their Championship counterparts and secure a shock victory at the City of Manchester Stadium and progress to the fifth round of the FA Cup.

City should be back to full strength for the tie this weekend with Mario Balotelli expected to make it to the bench for the game though Nigel de Jong continues to remain out of action.
