Leverkusen currently lead Group B with eight points from four games and can assure themselves of a spot in the knockout rounds of the competition by beating Rosenborg on Wednesday evening.  Jupp Heynckes’ side left it late to beat Aris Salonika on Match Day 4, with Arturo Vidal grabbing the winner in the last minute of the game.

Rosenborg are meanwhile seeking to avoid a third successive defeat in the group after losing to defending champions Atletico Madrid on Match Days 3 and 4. The 2-1 loss to Atletico at home in November also brought an end to Rosenborg’s six game unbeaten European run at the Lerkendal Stadium.

Leverkusen comfortably saw off Rosenborg when the two sides met at the Bay Arena in September.  Striker Patrick Helmes was the architect of that victory for the Werkself as he netted a hat trick.
