Getafe started off their campaign positively with a 2-1 win over Odense BK at home but were unable to replicate that result away from home in Switzerland and Germany. They lost 2-0 to Young Boys in Berne on Match Day 2 and were beaten 1-0 by Stuttgart at the Mercedes-Benz Arena a fortnight ago.

Romanian international Ciprian Marica scored the only goal of the game in the 26^th minute. Brazilian Cacau’s brilliant pass was collected by Marica, whose initial shot was parried by Getafe keeper Oscar Ustari. Marica however, was on hand to tuck away the rebound.

Stuttgart midfielder Christian Gentner will miss his side’s next European game if he goes into the referee’s books in this fixture. Getafe are currently six points behind Stuttgart in the points table, having taken three points from their first three fixtures.
