Drawn into a group that also includes Sevilla and Paris Saint Germain apart from Karpaty, Dortmund haven’t exactly set the Europa League on fire. They are third in the group with five points from four games, four behind leaders Sevilla and three behind PSG.

Dortmund played out an entertaining goalless draw against PSG on Match Day 4. Dortmund were the better side, especially in the last few minutes of the fixture. BVB stopper Roman Weidenfeller also had an excellent day under the sticks in the French capital.

Dortmund’s only win in the group stages of the Europa League came against Karpaty when the two sides met in September. Mario Gotze scored a stoppage time winner in Lviv as Dortmund prevailed in a seven goal thriller. Since then Dortmund have lost one and drawn two while Karpaty have lost three in a row.
