After knocking out Polish giants Wisla Krakow in the third qualifying round, Azerbaijani side FK Qarabag will be aiming to stun Borussia Dortmund when they meet Jurgen Klopp’s side at Signal Iduna Park this Thursday. Dortmund finished 5^th in the Bundesliga this season with 57 points and this will be their first game in the 10/11 Europa League. However in Qarabag, they will be against a team who are brimming with confidence after reaching the playoff round for the second year running.

Qarabag beat Metalurg Skopje 5-2 on aggregate in the first qualifying round. Their 4-1 first leg win over the Macedonian outfit equalled the best ever win for an Azerbaijani side in European competition. Next up were Northern Irish side Portadown, who were seen off 3-2 in the second round. Wisla Krakow were beaten 1-0 in Poland and 3-2 at home in the third round, allowing Qarabag to progress 4-2 on aggregate.

Qarabag reached this stage of the tournament last year too before bowing out to Dutch side Twente Enschede. They lost the first leg 3-1 in Amsterdam and could not overcome the deficit in the second leg at home.
