AEK have picked up seven points from their first five fixtures in Group G. Third placed Anderlecht are three points behind, but the Belgian side’s superior head to head record against AEK means that an Anderlecht win against Hajduk Split, coupled with an AEK loss to Zenit will see Anderlecht progress at AEK’s expense.

AEK beat Hajduk 3-1 in Split on Match Day 5. An Ignacio Scocco penalty along with second half strikes from Kostas Manolas and Ismael Blanco gave the visitors from Athens their second victory in Group G.

Zenit made it five wins out of as many games in the group as they beat Anderlecht 3-1 on Match Day 5. Goals from Alexsei Ionov, Alexsandr Bukharov and Szabolcs Huszti ensured that Zenit ran out comfortable winners at the Petrovsky Stadium.
