Wales started their qualifying campaign with a disappointing defeat away to Montenegro with Mirko Vucinic scoring the only goal of the match midway through the first half.

With England expected to secure the automatic berth to the Euro 2012 finals, Wales will be aware that they will have to put up a vastly improved performance in their remaining games if they are to have any hopes of qualifying to at least the playoffs.

Bulgaria on the other hand are clearly missing the skill of Dimitar Berbatov up front with Lothar Matthaus’ side losing both their opening two games without troubling the scorers. Bulgaria were expected to challenge Montenegro for the playoff spot but another defeat against Wales could herald an end to their qualifying campaign even before it reaches its halfway stage.
