Sweden are still smarting from their failure to qualify for this summer’s world cup. With fans demanding a drastic improvement, new coach Erik Hamren has moved quickly to reassure them. Much of the team for the two qualifiers against Hungary and San Marino is made up of the personnel that featured in the side’s 3-0 friendly won over Scotland last month. Sweden play Hungary in their opening game of the qualifying campaign on Friday.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic will feature for the first time after a ten-month absence from the national team.

Meanwhile San Marino will be hoping to make some difference in their round of qualifiers. Manager Gianpaolo Mazza has pumped for youth and has introduced Nicola Chiaruzzi and midfielder Pier Filippo Mazza in his team. Andy Selva is expected to lead the attack against Netherlands on Friday and Sweden on Tuesday.
