Following his six month suspension for interfering with the anti-doping agents, Carlos Queiroz was sacked by the Portuguese FA with Paulo Bento announced as the successor after Jose Mourinho expressed his inability to manage both the national team and Real Madrid.

Fans will be hopeful that Bento will prove to be a better coach for the national side with Portugal off to another disappointing start having collected just one point from their opening two games. With no major footballing nation, Portugal are clear favorites to clinch the automatic qualification spot though Bento will be aware that his side will have to win their next two games if they are to have any chance of finishing at the top of their group table.

Denmark on the other hand will be looking to take a big step towards finishing at least second in the group stage by securing all three points on Friday. Morten Olsen’s side started their campaign with a narrow in over Iceland and could go at least five points clear in the race for the second place if they manage to win their next two games.
