Norway have won both their opening games of this campaign by beating Portugal and Iceland by 1-0 and 1-2 score lines respectively. Norway coach Egil Olsen will be delighted with his side's showing and will hope for a similar show on Friday. He has called up 18-year-old midfielder Markus Henriksen into the squad to take on Cypris.

John Carew and Erik Huseklepp are again expected to lead the attack in this game as well as the friendly against Croatia four days later.

Meanwhile Cyprus coach Angelos Anastasiadis has recalled goalkeeper Michalis Morfis to his squad despite the latter playing his trade in second-division domestic football. Cyprus played out a 4-4 draw against Portugal in their opening qualification game. After the game against Norway, they take on Denmark on 12 October.
