Spurs qualified to the Champions League for the first time in their history last season though manager Harry Redknapp will be aware that failure against Young Boys will undo all of the hard work from last season.

Meanwhile Swiss side Young Boys will be hoping for a repeat of their performance from the third qualifying round when they pulled off an upset against Turkish giants Fenerbahce. Vladimir Petkovic’s side looked all but out of the competition after only managing a 2-2 draw at home in the first leg only to secure a vital 1-0 win in Turkey in the second leg.

Young Boys have been frustrated in their last two appearances in the tournament, losing out to Crvena Zvezda in the second qualifying round during the 2004-05 season while a 1-0 win in the first leg was not enough for them to beat Real Madrid European Champion Clubs' Cup first round in 1986-87.
