Tottenham Hotspur take on Werder Bremen in their first ever Champions League group stage match on Tuesday with the English club looking to open their account in the Europe’s elite club competition. Watch every second of live Champions League action by signing up with us here on Live Sport Network.

Spurs qualified to the group stages of the competition following an impressive performance that saw them thrash Young Boys 4-0 in the second leg of their play-off round clash after having lost 3-2 in Bern. Though Harry Redknapp is delighted with his side making it this far in the competition, the Spurs manager will be hoping for more of the same from his side as he looks to qualify out of a tough group which also includes Inter Milan and FC Twente.

Bremen on the other hand will be hoping to improve on the performance from their last appearance in the competition. The German club narrowly missed out on a place in the knockout stages of the competition after finishing third in the group stage and with two teams in the group making their debuts in the competition, coach Thomas Schaaf will be optimistic that his side can finish at least second.

Bremen will be without defender Per Mertesacker who is out with a broken eye socket while playing for the national side while Jermain Defoe faces a long spell on the sidelines due to an ankle injury.
