After knocking out AC Milan in the Round of 16, Tottenham Hotspur will be hoping for an encore when they face Real Madrid in the first leg of their Champions League quarterfinal on Tuesday. Tottenham also played the first leg of their Round of 16 tie away from home. The Lilywhites grabbed a 1-0 win in Milan thanks to a late goal from Peter Crouch. In the return leg at White Hart Lane, Spurs produced a resolute defensive performance to draw the tie and progress to the last eight 1-0 on aggregate.

Real Madrid broke their recent Champions League knockout stage hoodoo as they beat French giants Olympique Lyonnais to move into the last eight. Los Blancos drew 1-1 in the first leg at Stade Gerland, but had no such problems at home as they outclassed OL 3-0 in the second leg at the Bernabeu.

Karim Benzema scored in both legs against Lyon for Real Madrid, with Marcelo and Angel di Maria also netting for Jose Mourinho’s side. Benzema has been in red hot form recently and will be looking to keep his scoring run going against Spurs.
