Lyon go into the match following a hard fought victory over Schalke in their opening group match with Michel Bastos scoring the only goal of the match midway through the first half. Manager Claude Puel expressed his satisfaction over the result but another poor start to the new season has increased the pressure on the Lyon boss who will be hoping to collect maximum points ahead of the double header against Portuguese champions Benfica.

Hapoel Tel Aviv coach Eli Guttman on the other hand will be expecting a vastly improved performance after they were completely outplayed by Benfica in their first group match. Luisao opened the scoring for the Portuguese side midway through the first half before Oscar Cardozo secured the result by doubling the lead late in the second half.

While his side are favorites to finish at the bottom of the group table, Guttman will be keen to spring a surprise or two over his opponents though he will be aware that his side’s poor record against French opponents will count against him on Wednesday.
