The Blues scored 17 goals in their final three games of the last season and Carlo Ancelotti’s side have picked up where they left off as Chelsea have slammed home 28 goals in their last six games including a 4-1 thrashing of minnows MSK Zilina in their first group stage match.

Marseille on the other hand will be hoping to bounce back from their disappointing defeat to Spartak Moscow in their first group match with coach Didier Deschamps aware that a defeat could seriously dent his side’s hopes of progressing to the next stage.

The French club welcome back Lucho Gonzalez who has recovered from a calf injury while Chelsea will be without Gael Kakuta, Yossi Benayoun and Salomon Kalou who were all injured during Chelsea’s shock defeat to Newcastle United last week.
