The French giants have been in excellent form on the European stage and only need to draw their next match to become the first team to book a place in the knockout stage. However with pressure steadily increasing following another poor start to the domestic campaign, coach Claude Puel will be hoping for another comfortable victory on Tuesday.

Lyon secured a comfortable 2-0 victory over Benfica in their last match with new signing Jimmy Briand breaking the deadlock midway through the first half while Lisandro Lopez added the second six minutes into the second half. Puel was pleased with the result and said that his side is yet to hit top form.

Meanwhile Benfica coach Jorge Jesus will be aware that anything less than a victory on Tuesday could all but end his side’s hopes of progressing to the next stage. Benfica are three points behind Schalke in third place and with the German side expected to secure another victory over Hapoel Tel Aviv, the Portuguese champions find themselves in danger of slipping six points behind with just two games remaining.
