Braga will be hoping to keep up their excellent form in their debut Champions League campaign by pulling off another shock result when they visit Arsenal in their opening group stage game on Wednesday. The Portuguese side shocked Celtic in the third qualifying round with a ruthless performance during the 3-0 victory in the first leg before dumping out Sevilla in the play-off round with a 5-3 aggregate victory over the Spanish side. Coach Domingos Paciencia will be delighted with his side’s display and will be aware that they have a great chance of progressing to the next round with Partizan and Shakhtar Donetsk making up the other two members in the group.

Arsenal on the other hand will be hoping to prove that they have what it takes to beat the best sides in Europe by maintaining a perfect record in the group stage. The Gunners’ best performance in the competition came in 2006 when they made it all the way to the finals and have not failed to make it at least to the quarter finals of the competition in their last three campaigns.

The Gunners will be missing a number of key players with Theo Walcott, Robin Van Persie and Samir Nasri all out injured while there are fitness concerns over Nicklas Bendtner. Braga too will be missing a couple of their key players with Elderson and Leandro both suspended for the game.
