After seeing off the challenge of Milton Keynes Dons in the third round, Birmingham City will aim to dump the Dons’ League One rivals Brentford out of the tournament when the two sides meet on Tuesday in the Carling Cup. See Birmingham vs Brentford live online by joining Live Sport Network today.

As mentioned above, Blues beat MK Dons 3-1 in the previous round thanks to a three goal burst in a matter of four first half minutes. Alexander Hleb scored the first in the 24^th minute with Nikola Zigic doubling Birmingham’s advantage two minutes later. Both the goals were set up by Jean Beausejour.

Craig Gardner, a 23^rd minute substitute for Marcos Madera, then slammed home from 25 yards out to give Birmingham a 3-0 lead. MK Dons managed to pull one back late in the game but the result of the fixture was never beyond doubt.

Brentford upset Birmingham’s Premier League rivals Everton in the third round. The Bees prevailed 4-3 on penalties after regulation time saw the two teams deadlocked at 1-1. Brentford’s only goal of the game in normal time came through Gary Alexander.
