Zenit have had a tough start to their debut Champions League campaign and have lost both their matches against Real Madrid and Juventus. The Russian champions have impressed in both their matches but with no luck as they were beaten 1-0 by Juventus before losing out 2-1 to Real Madrid in their last match.

Zenit started their match against Madrid in the worst fashion possible with Tomas Hubocan scoring an own goal to put the visitors in an early lead. However the Russian champions settled down to pull level through Danny and just when it looked that they were on course to pull of an upset, Rudd van Nistelrooy scored the winner to maintain Madrid's perfect start to their European campaign.

 

 

Meanwhile Borisov will be hoping to build on their good performance against Juventus and hope to come away with at least a point against Zenit on Tuesday. Borisov had taken a 2-0 lead against Juventus with Sergei Kryvets and Igor Stasevich hitting the back of the net early in the first half but the visitors fought back to equalize thanks to a brace from Vincenzo Iaquinta.

Though Borisov coach Viktor Goncharenko will be disappointed that his side was unable to hold on to their lead, he will be satisfied that Borisov managed to register their first point in the group stages and will now be looking forward to positive results in the double header against Zenit and try to finish third in the group stage.
