Zenit St Petersburg will be looking to make use of their home advantage and build on their impressive 1-1 draw in the first leg against Bayern Munich when the two teams meet in the second leg of their semi final clash on Thursday.

Chasing their first ever European final, Zenit took a giant step in achieving their dreams with a vital 1-1 draw away in Germany that puts them in pole position to qualify to the final. Bayern seemed to be heading towards a regulation win after Franck Ribery had given them an early lead in the 18th minute but an own goal by Lucio in the second half put Zenit right back on track.

With Zenit grabbing the vital away goal, Bayern will have to push forward in search of a goal and Zenit manager Dick Advocaat will be hoping to hit the German giants on the counter attack. Bayern sorely missed the services of Luca Toni who was suspended after receiving yellow cards in both the legs against Getafe.

However the Italian striker will be back in action and coach Ottmar Hitzfeld will be hopeful that his top scorer will fire in Russia. For Zenit, Andrei Arshavin, Ricksen and Radek Sirl are all out due to suspension after receiving a yellow card in the first leg while Aleksandr Anyukov is a major doubt after suffering a toe injury.

Bayern have not faced defeat on the Russian soil so far with six visits yielding three wins and three draws. Their overall record against Russian opponents stand at six wins, six draws and just one defeat against Lokomotiv Moscow back in 1995-96 season.
