Tipped to have a tough relegation battle on hand, Wolves have finished the season in a comfortable fashion, six points clear of the relegation zone in spite of collecting just four points from their last six games including a disappointing 3-1 defeat to Portsmouth last weekend.

Manager Mick McCarthy will be satisfied with his team’s performance this season and will be looking to repeat the performance next year. While the Wolves manager has revealed that his side will play a very active part in the transfer window, McCarthy said that the minimum expectation of surviving another season in the Premier League will remain unchanged.

Meanwhile Sunderland manager Steve Bruce will be hopeful that his side can end the season inside the top half of the league table with a comfortable victory over Wolves this weekend. While it has been a far more comfortable outing for the Black Cats this season, Bruce will be ruing his side’s 14 match winless streak that saw them drop out of contention of a European place.
