The German side need to match CSKA Moscow’s result to finish second in the group table but having come very close to snatching a point at Old Trafford early in the season, Wolfsburg coach Armin Veh will be confident that his side has the ability to inflict a rare away defeat on United.

United needed a late goal from Carrick to secure a win against Wolfsburg early in the campaign after the German club had taken a second half lead through Edin Dzeko only for Ryan Giggs to equalize in space of three minutes.
