Wigan Athletic will aim to continue their climb on the Premiership table when they welcome bottom of the league West Brom on Saturday. Wigan climbed out of the relegation zone after they beat Everton 1-0 last weekend. Louis Saha had a chance to put Everton ahead at the JJB Stadium, but he wasted it and eventually Henri Camara scored for Wigan to give them all three points. This was also Camara's first goal in 28 Premier League matches and the Senegalese forward would have been delighted to break a jinx that started way back in December 2006.

Wigan boss Steve Bruce will hope his side can continue this run especially because this was the club's first home goal in six hours and 18 minutes of play at the JJB. With Amr Zaki in good form, it remains to be seen if Camara can push for a place in the starting eleven after this performance.

 

 

Meanwhile West Bromwich Albion continue to languish at the bottom of the table and had no luck even when they played against Stoke City last weekend.

The clash of the Premiership new boys saw Stoke emerge 1-0 winners at the Britannia Stadium with Mamady Sidibe scoring the only goal of the game. Sidibe headed in Danny Higginbotham's cross in the 84th minute just as it was beginning to look like both teams would get a point each from the game.

 

 

West Brom boss Tony Mowbray needs to start ringing in some changes if his team has to have a realistic chance of dragging themselves out of the danger zone. Otherwise it is going to be a long and hard latter half of the season for the Baggies.
