Hull City’s failure to collect any point against Sunderland last weekend assured Wigan’s safety from relegation even though they suffered a disappointing defeat away to West Ham. While Martinez will be satisfied that his side avoided relegation, the Wigan manager will be looking to make changes to the squad as he looks for a more comfortable outing in his second season in charge of the club.

Hull City on the other hand will be looking to go down with their heads held high with coach Ian Dowie optimistic that they can put up a good showing both against Wigan and against Liverpool in their final game of the season.

The Tigers have struggled for form ever since Phil Brown was sent on a gardening leave and have managed to collect just four points from the seven games that Dowie has been in charge of. Hull will be without Jozy Altidore who was sent off against Sunderland last weekend while there are fitness concerns over Ian Ashbee and Dean Marney.
