The Latics have had an inconsistent season so far and are going through a poor run of form that has seen them win just one of their last 10 games. With his side facing Arsenal and Chelsea in their final five games, coach Roberto Martinez will be expecting nothing less than all three points against a team near them in the league table starting with a victory over Burnley this weekend.

Wigan slumped to their fourth defeat in last five games after losing 2-1 to Aston Villa on Wednesday. An own goal by James McCarthy and another by James Milner was enough for Villa to secure all three points even though Gary Caldwell had managed to pull his side back on level terms.

Meanwhile Burnley are going through a dip in form of their own with the club managing to collect just one point from their last six games. The poor run of form has seen Burnley slide down to 18th in the league table and they are three points away from safety, but have played a game more than their nearest rivals.
