The Latics bounced back from a horror show when they lost 9-1 to Tottenham a fortnight ago. Last week they beat Sunderland by a 1-0 margin thanks to a strike from Hugo Rodallega. The game was tightly contested, but a solitary goal in the 76th minute settled matters in Wigan's favor.

Lee Bowyer's strike in the 3rd minute was the difference between the two teams in an otherwise dull game. The win took Birmingham to the 11 spot with 18 points from 14 games. Manager Alex McLeish will hope his side can carve out another win in this game and slowly work their way towards safety. Damien Johnson is back after recovering from a hamstring injury, but Garry O'Connor and Teemu Tainio continue to be sidelined.
