Wigan Athletic will be searching for their first point in over nine matches when they welcome high flying Manchester City to the JJB Stadium in their next Premiership match on Saturday.

Eight defeats in a row has seen Wigan slip deep into the relegation zone after a promising start to the season but fans will be hopeful that new manager Steve Bruce will be able to turn things around and salvage their season by avoiding relegation.

With a relatively easy set of fixtures to follow, Eriksson will be hoping that his team maintains the current level of performance starting with a convincing victory over Wigan on Saturday. However Eriksson will have to deal with a long list of injuries with as many as 8 players out of contention.

Man City had lost heavily in this fixture last season as Wigan romped home with a 4-0 victory. However Bruce will be happy if his team manages to avoid defeat this time around and register a vital point as he looks to lift the club out of the relegation zone as soon as possible.
