Wigan Athletic face a tough time on Saturday when they welcome league leaders Chelsea who will be desperate to stretch their winning streak to seven games with another comfortable victory at the DW Stadium. The Blues have raced ahead of the pack with six straight wins and are increasingly looking confident of securing their first Premier League title in four years. Tottenham Hotspur's visit to Stamford Bridge provided Chelsea with their toughest test yet this season but the Blues passed with flying colors as goals from Ashley Cole, Michael Ballack and Didier Drogba helped them secure a 3-0 win against Spurs.

There was an injury scare during the game as Drogba was stretchered off the field with a calf injury but subsequent scans have quashed any fears of a serious injury and the Ivory Coast striker is expected to regain his starting place against Wigan. However manager Carlo Ancelotti may elect to rest him for the upcoming clash against Liverpool next week. Chelsea will be further boosted by the twin recoveries of Joe Cole and new signing Yuri Zhirkov who are yet to play this season.

Meanwhile Wigan have had a mixed run in the premiership so far. The Latics have lost four of their six games played so far; the latest loss being a 4-0 trashing by Arsenal last week. A brace from Thomas Vermaelen and a goal apiece from Eboue and Cesc Fabregas gave the Gunners a facile win and left Wigan boss Roberto Martinez with multiple headaches. For this game, Olivier Kapo, who injured knee ligaments in pre-season, may feature on the bench.
