Five straight defeats has increased the pressure on Zola and with West Ham suffering a humiliating 3-1 defeat to Wolves last weekend, reports suggest that the former Chelsea player could be packing his bags if West Ham fail to beat Stoke on Saturday.

Gianfranco Zola has often expressed his unhappiness since the takeover but with his side losing their last five games, the Italian could be sacked with both David Sullivan and David Gold looking for a more experienced manager.

West Ham find themselves three points clear of the drop zone only due to the fact that both Burnley and Hull City are going through a rough patch of their own. But with just seven games remaining in the season, the West Ham board could opt for a more tactically astute coach like Mark Hughes or Slaven Bilic should the Hammers lose on Saturday.

Stoke City on the other hand will be keen to take advantage of West Ham’s poor run of form to register their first win in five games. The Potters have managed to collect just two points from their last four games but with safety all but assured, coach Tony Pulis is now chasing a place in the top half of the table.
