After a promising start to his managerial career Gianfranco Zola has seen his side crash to five defeats in their last six matches. Portsmouth manager Tony Adams will be delighted to have registered his first win since taking over from Harry Redknapp and will now be looking forward to maintain his side's push for a European place come the end of the season.

Pompey suffered back to back defeats against Liverpool and Everton following the appointment of Adams but the FA Cup winners finally secured their first win under their new manager with a 2-1 win over Sunderland last weekend.

 

 

After going behind to an early goal by Djibril Cisse, Portsmouth fought back in the second half to equalize through Nadir Belhadj before Jermain Defoe grabbed the winner from the penalty spot late in injury time.
