Newcastle United are in desperate need of a victory to bring the focus back on to football when they visit West Ham on Saturday.  Catch all the live footy action on Live Sport Network.

The crisis at St James Park shows no signs of ending with owner Mike Ashley putting up the club for sale, but warned the supporters that it could take a long time to find a suitable buyer. Ashley released an emotional statement to the supporters saying that he always had the best interests of the club in his mind and wanted Newcastle to be able to stand on its own feet rather than rely on the millions of a rich owner.

 

 

However the fans continue to protest against the board and matters were not helped after Newcastle suffered a humiliating defeat to Premiership new boys Hull City on the weekend. Marlon King scored a brace for Hull and though Newcastle got one back through Xisco, Hull City came away with a famous victory at St James Park.

West Ham's match against Newcastle will be Gianfranco Zola's first game in charge of his new club after he was appointed as the successor to Alan Curbishley last week. Zola will be hoping that he will be able to exploit the crisis at Newcastle and get his managerial career in England off to a winning start.

 

 

Zola's first task at hand will be to continue the good start that West Ham have had by collecting six points from their first four matches. The Hammers suffered a narrow 3-2 defeat to West Bromwich Albion on the weekend thanks to a late goal by Chris Brunt.
