The Blues needed a late brace from Kevin Phillips to collect all three points at home to Wolves on Sunday after the visitors had taken a first half lead through Kevin Doyle. The result sees Birmingham move just four points behind the final European place and manager Alex McLeish will be delighted with his side’s performances so far this season.

With Everton, Sunderland and Fulham all struggling for form, Birmingham have a great chance of achieving their highest position in the Premier League in more than 50 years and McLeish will be hoping to take another step closer to the milestone by collecting all three points on Wednesday.

Meanwhile West Ham boss will be aware that his side will have to start picking up points if they are to avoid a relegation fight in the final stages of the season. The Hammers suffered a disappointing 2-1 defeat to Burnley on Saturday to drop back into the relegation zone and manager Gianfranco Zola will be hoping that his side can improve on their recent form sooner rather than later.
