The Baggies sank to a 4-2 loss against Manchester City last week. The loss pushed them closer to the Championship next season and manager Tony Mowbray conceded they now face an almost impossible task. Goals from Robinho, Nedum Onuoha, Elano and Daniel Sturridge helped City beat West Brom, whose hopes were helped by a brace from Chris Brunt.

The loss meant West Brom stayed on 25 points from 33 games. They occupy the bottom of the table and look destined to be relegated this season. Injuries have not helped West Brom's cause either. Roman Bednar is out with a hamstring problem, while Shelton Martis misses out with a groin issue.

 

 

Meanwhile Sunderland's survival hopes received a massive boost last week when they beat Hull City 1-0. A lone goal from Djibril Cisse helped the Black Cats secure all three points and move to the 15th point on the Premier League table with 35 points from 33 games.

Manager Ricky Sbragia revealed the club is still not out of the woods, but another win here will all but guarantee survival this season. For this game, the interim boss will have Kieran Richardson back after the latter recovered from a calf injury. George McCartney and David Healy remain sidelined, but Dean Whitehead and Andy Reid are available.
