West Brom will be hoping their luck will turn for the better when they welcome Blackburn Rovers to The Hawthorns on Saturday. Watch all the live premiership action here on Live Sport Network.

 

 

West Brom have been desperately unlucky in their last few games as they have fought admirably only to go down in the final analysis. The same case was repeated during their midweek game against Newcastle United where they played well in patches, but ultimately went down 2-1.

Goals from Joey Barton and Obefami Martins helped the Magpies negate Ishmael Miller's strike for the Baggies. The disappointing part for manager Tony Mowbray was the manner in which the first goal was scored.

 

 

Ryan Donk fouled Shola Ameobi in the area giving away an easy penalty, which was put away by Barton. West Brom appear to lack the cutting edge and this could be very well their undoing this season.

Meanwhile Blackburn were also unlucky against Aston Villa on Wednesday when they lost 2-3 at Villa Park. Stephen Warnock had put the Rovers ahead early on, but Luke Young equalized for Villa. Thereafter Gareth Barry gave Villa the lead and Gabriel Agbonlahor appeared to seal the points for the home side with the third goal.

 

 

However Blackburn fought on and Brett Emerton's free-kick in injury time pulled one back for them although they could not get the equalizer.

Manager Paul Ince was disappointed that his side had been unable to close out games against Bolton, Middlesbrough and now Villa. However he will be heartened by the return of Benni McCarthy to first team football.
