Werder Bremen will look to achieve a home win and stay in contention for a place in the UEFA Cup when they welcome Inter Milan to the Weserstadion on Tuesday. Watch all the Live Champions League action here on Live Sport Network.

 

 

Bremen lost their way in the middle of the group stage when they lost 0-3 to Greek side Panathinaikos on Matchday 4. The German side are yet to register their first win in this season's Champions League having drawn their remaining four games.

Bremen started off with a 0-0 draw against newcomers Anorthosis and followed it up with a 1-1 draw against Inter Milan and a 2-2 draw against Panathinaikos. However they lost the return leg by a 3-0 margin, which effectively scuppered their bid to make it to the next stages.

 

 

In their next game against Cypriot champions Anorthosis, Bremen were trailing 2-0 after goals from Nikos Nikolaou and Savio after the first 70 minutes. But Diego and Hugo Almeida rescued a point for them to keep them in the hunt for a place in the UEFA Cup.

Meanwhile Inter Milan have qualified for the knock out stages despite slipping to a shock 1-0 loss to Panathinaikos in their last game. The Italian champions were stunned at the San Siro by a goal from Jose Sarriegi. The Nerazzurri started off with a 2-0 win over Panathinaikos and followed this with a hard fought 1-1 draw against Bremen.

 

 

A 1-0 win and a 3-3 draw in the double-header against Anorthosis confirmed Inter's place in the knock out stages despite the unexpected loss to Panathinaikos in their next match. Inter boss Jose Mourinho may be tempted to rest some of his stars for this game, but the intention is to finish as Group B winners.
