Real Madrid will be looking to maintain their good form in the Champions League with a convincing victory over Werder Bremen that will take them to the knockout stages of the competition.

Madrid need just a point from the match against Bremen regardless of the result between Lazio and Olympiacos but manager Bernd Schuster will be aiming for a victory that will see the Spanish giants finish at the top of the live champions league group table.

Schuster will be looking to build on Madrid's 2-1 victory over Bremen in the first leg of the fixture on Matchday 1 with Rudd van Nistelrooy getting the winner after Boubacar Sanogo had cancelled Raul's goal early in the first half. Madrid were then held to a 2-2 draw by Lazio in the second match but came back strongly to beat Olympiacos 4-2 at home on Matchday 3. However the Greek club held on to a hard fought 0-0 draw in the return leg.

Meanwhile Bremen will have to win their remaining matches and hope that other results go their way starting with the match between Lazio and Olympiacos on Wednesday. The German club will be knocked out of the competition if the match throws up any kind of a result other than a draw.

Bremen have lost three of their four matches and sit at the foot of the group table with three points from 4 matches. Bremen started the campaign in a worst way possible, losing their first two matches against Real Madrid and Olympiacos.

They followed it up with a convincing performance in the 2-1 victory over Lazio but lost out to the Italian club in the return leg, leaving them with an uphill task of qualifying to the knockout stages.
