The Gunners needed to keep their nerves in their last 16 encounter against Roma needing to sneak through to the quarterfinals via a penalty shootout win. Arsenal eventually prevailed 7-6 on penalties after the two ties had ended in an aggregate score of 1-1.

Robin van Persie is a doubtful starter for this game as he has a groin injury, but Nicklas Bendtner, Theo Walcott, Emmanuel Adebayor and Mikael Silvestre have recovered from their injuries and should start in this game.
