Barca qualified to the quarter finals on away goals after failing to get a result in both legs against Sevilla. The league runners-up were held to a 1-1 draw at Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán and Barca followed up the result with a 0-0 draw at Camp Nou last week.

Meanwhile Villarreal will be confident of upsetting the odds by claiming victory over Barcelona in both legs of the quarter final. With the winner scheduled to face either Atletico Madrid or Valencia in the semi finals, fans will be hopeful that their team brings home the trophy for the first time in the club's history.

Villarreal were in trouble after having lost the first leg 1-0 away to Recreativo Huelva and needed an extra time goal by Giuseppe Rossi to win the tie after Marcos Senna had pulled the scores level with a goal in the 10th minute.
