Ventspils drew against Sporting Lisbon on Match Day 4. The Latvian side took a surprise lead in the 15^th minute through Alessandro Zamperini. The Italian defender powerfully headed in Jurijs Laizans’ free kick past Sporting keeper Rui Patricio. Sporting however drew level just seven minutes later through Carlos Saleiro. Saleiro headed in the rebound after Ventspils keeper Alexsandrs Kolinko had blocked Simon Vukcevic’s first time effort.

Ventspils’ last game was against Banga Gargzdai in the Baltic League. The Latvian side won 2-1 thanks to goals from Alexsandrs Solovjovs and Joao Martins and booked a quarterfinal meeting against Lithuanian outfit FK Vetra.

Hertha came twice from behind to beat SC Heerenveen on Match Day 4. The Dutch side took the lead through Michal Papadoupolos, who sidefooted Hernan Losada’s cross past Jaroslav Drobny in the 3^rd minute. Valeri Domovchiyski equalised in the 21st minute by converting Artur Wichniarek’s cross, but Heerenveen again regained the lead through Papadoupolos’ 36^th minute header.

Domovchiyski and Wichniarek combined to help Hertha equalise in the 52^nd minute, and they claimed a dramatic win when Wichniarek scored a 91^st minute winner by tapping in Domovchiyski’s cross. Hertha lost 3-1 in the Bundesliga on Saturday to Eintracht Frankfurt. They are rooted to the bottom of the Bundesliga with just five points from thirteen games. Patrick Ebert is again available for selection after missing the trip to Holland on Match Day 4.
