By all accounts this is going to be a tough season for manager Arsene Wenger and all Gunners fans. This is because the team has been depleted by the loss of Emmaneul Adebayor and Kolo Toure to Manchester City in the summer.

Notwithstanding these departures, Arsenal also have some injury concerns ahead of the season as Tomas Rosicky has been ruled out for six weeks after barely recovering from an injury that kept him out for the last season.

The burden will thus fall on the young shoulders of Theo Walcott and striker Robin Van Persie, who signed a new deal in the summer. With Cesc Fabregas apparently staying put at the Emirates at least for this season, Wenger will be hard pressed to deliver some silverware as fans begin to question his tactical nous.

The rumored arrival of Patrick Viera from Inter Milan could act as a catalyst for Gunners and fans will be praying the move goes through.

Meanwhile Valencia have managed to keep hold of star players Davis Silva and David Villa although the duo have attracted the attention of big clubs including Manchester United. The club is in a financial hole and will look to have a good outing this season to reduce some of their debts.
