Valencia will be desperate to win in their Group B live UEFA Champions League clash against Schalke 04 in order to keep their hopes of making it through to the knock out stages alive. The Spanish side has had a nightmarish Champions League campaign so far and with just two games remaining they will want to make amends.

Valencia will also look to bounce back from a shock 2-0 loss to Rosenborg at home in what was new manager Ronald Koeman's first Champions League game in charge at the Mestalla.

Valencia began their UEFA Champions League campaign with a 1-0 win over FC Schalke 04, but lost 2-1 to Chelsea on Matchday 2 and then against Rosenborg on Matchday 3 and Matchday 4. The side is also struggling with injuries to key players. Fernandes is out with an undisclosed injury, while Garcia and Edu are being monitored on a day-to-day basis with undisclosed injuries. Alexis has a knee injury and could be out for four months. Valencia are at the bottom of Group B with 3 points from 4 games.

Schalke were unlucky not to take some points from their clash against Chelsea on Matchday 4. Heiko Westermann had a couple of great shots on goal, but was only denied by Petr Cech. Mirko Slomka's team lost 1-0 to Valencia on Matchday 1 in the Champions League, but bounced back with a 2-0 win over Rosenborg before losing at Chelsea on Matchday 3. They held the Blues to a 0-0 draw on Matchday 4.

The German Bundesliga side is struggling with injures to many players. Pander has a thigh strain, while Krstajic and Abel have knee injuries. Jones is sidelined with an ankle injury, while Kuranyi has a thigh strain. Schalke are third in Group B with 4 points from as many games.
