Sunday see’s the traditional curtain raiser to the Spanish League season with the first leg of the Super Cup encounter between Valencia and Real Madrid at the Mestalla in a game that you can watch live online right here at Live Sport Network.

Both teams will be looking to start the domestic season with a win and although the tie is over two legs, this will not detract from the fact that both teams will be all out for victory.

Real Madrid has enjoyed a relatively comfortable pre-season, latterly spent in Germany, and are looking forward to starting the domestic season on a positive note. The camp had been upset over recent weeks due to the on-going Ronaldo saga of will he, won’t he be joining the club. The matter seems to have been resolved for the time being with the news that the player himself is resigned to staying at Manchester United until next summer at least but while this seems to have sorted itself out, albeit not to Real’s satisfaction, another problem has arisen.

Of course we are talking about the Robinho situation and his apparent discontent at Real Madrid after Chelsea’s audacious bid to secure the players services. He is not happy with Real’s apparent nonchalant manner over the whole affair and has more or less demanded a move by stating that if he were to stay in Madrid his wages would have to be doubled!

Valencia for their part have had a smooth pre-season and have no apparent problems for Sunday’s game but will be hoping to take advantage of the fact that they are playing at home in the first leg by securing a lead to take to Madrid for the return leg.
