It is a tough game for Valencia who welcome Barcelona to the Mestalla in this weekend's top La Liga clash. Valencia have not registered a win in their last six games in all competitions and are desperate to get their La Liga season back on track as this is probably the one title they could challenge for.

Valencia are already out of the UEFA Champions League and their chances of making it to the UEFA Cup are very slim. New boss Ronald Koeman has struggled to motivate his players and is feeling the early pressure at the Mestalla. To compound their misery, Valencia have been goalless in their last three games.

Injury concerns are also heavy for the team with Gavilan, Baraja and Moretti continue to struggle with injuries. On top of this star striker David Villa has expressed an interest in a move to the Premier League with Chelsea leading the fight for him. Valencia are currently seventh in the La Liga table with 25 points from 15 games.

In their last La Liga game, Barcelona escaped with a 2-1 win over Deportivo La Coruna despite trailing by an early goal from Hidalgo Cristian. Goals from Ronaldinho and Xavi ensured Barcelona stayed in the hunt despite trailing Real Madrid by four points.

The team was also boosted by the return of forward Samuel Eto'o and attacking midfielder Deco from injuries that had kept them away for months. The lack of away wins has increased the pressure on coach Frank Rijkaard although the win against Deportivo should have eased the pressure a little bit.

However Lilian Thuram Oleguer, Edmilson, Sylvinho and star striker Thierry Henry continue to be on the injured list. Barcelona are second on the La Liga with 31 points from 15 games. Last season Valencia clinched this fixture 2-1; a result Ronald Koeman would dearly love to have.
