The Les Grenadiers bounced back from their disappointing defeat to Honduras in their opening group game with a comfortable victory over minnows Grenada. Fabrice Noel opened the scoring with a lucky deflection from a free kick in the 14th minute before James Marcelin made sure of the points by taking full advantage of a massive howler by Anthony Modeste to double the lead in the 79th minute.

The win means Jairo Rios' side are still in contention to qualify for the quarter finals but will have to beat defending champions USA in their final match or at least avoid a defeat if they are to progress as one of the two best third placed teams.

Meanwhile the United States wrapped up their qualification to the quarter finals with a comfortable 2-0 win over Honduras in their last match. Following their thumping 4-0 win over Grenada in their opening group match, the Yanks were high on confidence but had to wait until the 75th minute to take the lead.

Honduras had done well to keep United States at bay till the 75th minute, but were unable to resist Santino Quaranta who converted Charlie Davies' cross to give his side the lead. It was all over four minutes later as Brian Ching headed home Steve Cherundolo's cross to double the lead.

It was another comfortable win for the Yanks but coach Bob Bradley will be expecting his players to give their all in the final game and maintain their side's winning streak in the competition which now stands at eight games.
