France will go into the match against Ukraine on Wednesday delighted to have qualified for the Euro 2008 finals next year following the defeat of Scotland against Italy on Saturday.

France now has 25 points from 11 matches played, one point more than Scotland who finished the campaign in third position. Coach Raymond Domenech will now be looking to end the campaign on a high with a convincing victory over Ukraine and try to finish at the top of the group table.

With qualification in the bag, Domenech is expected to stick with his young players who managed a credible 2-2 draw against Morocco in their friendly clash on Friday. Nicolas Anelka could get a run out if the Bolton striker has recovered from his hamstring injury.

Meanwhile Ukraine will be looking to bounce back from their 2-0 defeat to Lithuania and come up with a determined performance against France on Wednesday. Mantas Savenas and Tomas Danilevicius scored for Lithuania as the hosts emerged comfortable winners against a Ukrainian team that has been besieged by injuries to a number of key players.

Ukraine coach Oleh Blokhin has  named a strong 19-man squad for the match. FC Dynamo Kyiv defender Serhiy Fedorov could make his first appearance for Ukraine in over a year after recovering from a serious knee injury. 

Ukraine are fourth in Group B with 16 points from 11 games, while France are second with 25 points from 11 games.
